The Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland (R.A.S.Q) was founded in 1860 by a collection of gentlemen with forward thinking and a sense of vision.
Their focus, as is ours today, is the promotion of agricultural excellence radiating from the Darling Downs to which we have continued for 163 years. The Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show is the oldest event of its type in Queensland. In 1985 the R.A.S.Q. relocated to its current 245 acre purpose built site at Glenvale.
37 years have evolved since relocation to these grounds and it is still growing, offering a first class venue to event organisers across the country, with the inclusion of one of Queensland’s largest indoor equestrian facilities and sales complex.
The Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show comes under the banner of the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland and for 2024 will be holding its 159th show for the people of the Darling Downs and surrounding regions. The show is organised and run with the assistance of the General Committee and over 500 volunteers and staff.
Due to the size of these facilities we have made arrangements with a number of local groups and businesses to use particular areas of the grounds on a permanent basis.
