In consultation with Equestrian Queensland, Toowoomba Regional Council and other industry stakeholders, the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland (RASQ) has identified an opportunity to improve the current equestrian facilities at Toowoomba Showgrounds, by creating an equestrian Centre of Excellence.
Once developed, the Toowoomba Equestrian Centre of Excellence would offer the ability to host large scale equestrian events (>300 competitors) on high standard, fit-for-discipline competition surfaces. These improvements would fill an identified gap in the Queensland equestrian facility market, in both the short and long term.
The facility would also present a suitable alternative equestrian venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, capable of accommodating all the spectator, competition and quarantine/biosecurity requirements once the facility is improved.
The RASQ would like to provide everyone with an interest in the Toowoomba Equestrian Centre of Excellence project with an opportunity to comment on the project and be informed with occasional project updates.
